You need to add the Packman repo manually… For more information please refer to the Restricted formats page: Restricted Formats/11.3 - openSUSE Community Wiki

I tried the one click install. Should that have installed everything? Cos I’m still getting this message. What packages from packman would I need to install?
I’m also getting this:

When I try to access LBC 97.3 Radio Station. What packages do I need to install to get these working.
Please just follow this:

Ok I’ve been following the instructions at this thread here —
Multi-media and Restricted Format Installation Guide
I enter the last command — zypper dup -r packman
I get errors.

Solution 1: keep obsolete gstreamer-0_10-plugins-bad-0.10.18-6.2.i586
Solution 2: break gstreamer-0_10-plugins-bad by ignoring some of its dependencies
I searched for those missing packages in yast and I was able to find the correct missing packages for some not all. I can’t be doing this last step right.
Of course I’m not able yet get the gsteamer to work. I have a fresh 11.3 gnome.
Any suggestions?
Did you try in Yast
like this:
ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing
You may still get errors, but you can save the error by using the expert button and then copy that info here.
I just did a Gnome install and had to manually go thru and get the right package from packman by using the radio button. You can cancel the error box each time it comes up and just keep trying to get the versions right
Here is the radio switch I’m on about: ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing
Ignore the text detail here - I’m just showing you the version radio button
=========
On the other hand, regarding the current error from zypper - option 1, might let you go on but you may have to do the same with one or two other gstreamer packages. You can then go to yast and use the version switch
Some success. I worked what you said in yast. I applied the packman repository
versions of the packages + gstreamer.
I re ran — zypper dup -r packman
No error messages this time.
Rebooted. Tested the video here HubbleSOURCE: MPEG Video Clips
No video and no gstreamer error messages.
Same for wmv streams.
The good change is that I’m not receiving the gstreamer error. However I still don’t have playback.
I look in the plug ins addon menu under firefox and I see some Totem and VLC files.
See here — ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing
Its all good now.
I seached yast for the ffshow gstreamer plug ins + anything that looked plugin related.
Also I one clicked installed this — http://opensuse-community.org/codecs-gnome.ymp
Or just right click those links and save as…
Then view form HD
I did a fresh install this time with 32 bit openSUSE. All is working fine now. Now when or how long will it take for 64 bit to have the kind of support 32 bit does?
I do use 64-bit but I do not find much issues with regard to support for proprietary multimedia formats… The only problem in 64-bit is that w32codec-all is only available for 32-bit and not 64-bit but there are other x64 alternatives for most of the codecs…
