mp3 player problem

I have Opensuse 12.2 with kde.

My zen mozaic mp3 player mounts fine but the operation system recognizes it as a digital camera. That wouldn’t be a problem as I can browse the folder but I cannot copy anything on it.

I guess I have to access it as a root or maybe make the system recognize it as an mp3 player but I don’t know how.

Thanks

You say you can “browse” the file system on the device, but can not copy files to it. Did you check if it is mounted read-only. Or if there is anything in the ownership/access bits that block you.

In other words, what did you do to check what is going on beside using some GUI file manager (Dolphin?)? E.g.

mount | grep media

and

ls -l /media

You would probably like to manage this from within Rhythmbox, or whatever audio player you are using.

simply create the hidden file “.is_audio_player” in the same location as the music on this thing, remount it and you should be able to manage your music.

Or clementine if you prefer not to have too much gnome stuff

Reading the other answers, this seems to be more of a Multi-media question then a Hardware one.

Thanks for your replies.

I just switched from Windows to Linux a week ago and I’ve never used any software before to transfer my files. It worked with Clementine now.

Thanks!

It worked with Clementine now.
Good news. Welcome here BTW
