MozillaFirefox-Update installiert zusätzlich ESR - ein Bug?

Hallo,

nach ich dem ich gestern diesen Thread gestartet habe:

muss ich mich heute noch einmal melden.
Nachdem obiges Problem gelöst war und ich aber den FirefoxESR nicht brauche und will, habe ich diesen deinstalliert (er kam automatisch beim Update vom Fx aus dem Mozilla-Repo mit). Dazu wurde auch “kmozillahelper” als Abhängigkeit deinstalliert. Das ist schon mal seltsam.

Heute nun gab es schon wieder ein Fx-Update und wieder wurde zusätzlich FirefoxESR installiert inkl. kmozillahelper.

Die folgenden 5 Pakete werden aktualisiert:
  chromium libprotobuf20 libprotobuf-lite20 MozillaFirefox MozillaFirefox-translations-common

Die folgenden 4 NEUEN Pakete werden installiert:
  firefox-esr firefox-esr-branding-openSUSE firefox-esr-translations-common kmozillahelper

5 Pakete werden aktualisiert, 4 neue.

Größe des Pakets zum Herunterladen:   275,8 MiB

Kann mir das jemand erklären?
Ich will den ESR nicht, hatte ihn bisher auch noch nie.
Und “kmozillahelper” benötige ich evt. gar nicht …?

Muss ich jetzt damit leben, dass der FirefoxESR auch installiert ist/wird?
Oder ich verlasse das Mozilla-Repo … :frowning:

Entweder Firefox aus den openSUSE Repo installieren oder Bug melden :man_shrugging:

FWIW:
Das muss tatsächlich neu sein, ich hatte firefox-esr auch nicht installiert. Beim letzten zypper up habe ich deshalb genau hingesehen, und siehe da: plötzlich sollte es auch hier gezogen werden. Ein normales Blockieren mit zypper al firefox-esr scheint aber zu reichen. Spannend: Danach wollte es den Thunderbird installieren. :thinking:

Das zypper up ist problemlos durchgelaufen, es gibt auch keine Beschwerden über fehlende Abhängigkeiten.

Danke und ok, dann werde ich es auch mit dem Blockieren auch versuchen.
Momentan habe ich nach dem Update vom Firefox den ESR-Firefox wieder deinstalliert, funktioniert auch, ist aber nicht praktikabel.

Ich hab das mit dem Blockieren jetzt auch gemacht. Ist ja aber doch nicht so hübsch und deshalb doch noch einen Bug-Report dazu erstellt:
