Mozilla Dependency Bug

Dear Developers,

I was wondering whether anyone discovered the dependency in Mozilla. Mozilla dependency bug occurs in the drivers and libraries for secure socket communication and other communication. The dependencies are created from installing Mozilla.

After installation many communication programs like email, packaging, communication, start bar, and even time configuration become dependent on those singular Mozilla libraries.

As a result of this, things run very slow, especially when doing many things at the same time like: browsing the web, talking to friends, checking your email and listening to a radio channel. In other words: anything a normal computer user would do on his newly purchased home computer.

I would want to use Apple’s browser or Microsoft’s browser. But the system denies installation of these other browsers.

  • How can the Mozilla dependencies be re-engineered?
  • Why are the libraries so slow and why only Mozilla?
  • How can I remove Mozilla+libraries from the premises?
  • Why is there no commercial communication library?

Looking forwards to the answers.

Dear End-User,

Dear Developers,

I was wondering whether anyone discovered the dependency in Mozilla. Mozilla dependency bug occurs in the drivers and libraries for secure socket communication and other communication. The dependencies are created from installing Mozilla.

After installation many communication programs like email, packaging, communication, start bar, and even time configuration become dependent on those singular Mozilla libraries.

You’re being a bit vague. There is no specific or singular “Mozilla” package or library. There are several “Mozilla”-based packages and libraries. If you’re speaking of a browser, which one? Seamonkey? Firefox? Which versions?

Which libraries or deps are you talking about? Java? Javascript? NSS? NSPR? PK*? or what?

Which email program? Which “packaging” program? Which “communication” program(s)? Which versions? Start bar? Are you using Windows or are you a (new) Linux user? Which OS are we talking about here exactly, and which version?

As a result of this, things run very slow, especially when doing many things at the same time like: browsing the web, talking to friends, checking your email and listening to a radio channel. In other words: anything a normal computer user would do on his newly purchased home computer.

I’m probably multi-task more than the average user, and I don’t have these problems or slow-downs you’re speaking of, even during the tasks you mention above.

  • I don’t think your problem is “Mozilla” or whatever that means, necessarily.
  • Which libraries?
  • “Mozilla+libraries” are used in the other browsers you mention, as well as many other packages your probably use.
  • What exactly is a commercial communication library and how does that relate to your problems?

…just trying to provide some clarification for anyone who may actually want to help you or answer your question(s).

I had hoped people reading my post would have figured out for themselves, thinking in broad manners helps sometimes. What I was talking about is the following.

The computer has the SUSE 11.0 system installed
The following libraries can be matched with it:

nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5.99…rpm
mozilla-nss-3.12.0-23…rpm
mozilla-nspr-4.7.1-14…rpm

On these libraries a number of software applications are dependent:

Totem
Evolution
etc.

These applications install out-of-the-box on any machine and a number of important applications require the Mozilla libraries. This may affect the out-of-the-box experience.

Probably they will be optimised, but I would like the option of removing Firefox or Mozilla. Don’t worry because I solved the problem anyway. I put back the libraries and manually removed Mozilla.
