Moving GRUB to another HDD. Possible?

Hello.

As I’m new here, I’ll try to explain what my problem actually is.

I have my GRUB Boot loader on the Windows XP HDD
Don’t know how that happened…

The problem is… that HDD is very old, and probably won’t last another week (Problems started to pop out when using windows.)

I want to know if there’s a way to move the GRUB loader to another drive and removing the old drive… with GRUB functioning.

Thanks in advance

You haven’t explained how your disks are setup. Do you have two disks on your system and Linux is on the secondary disk? Do you still want to boot XP or are you giving that up?

If Linux is on the secondary disk, then move the disk into primary position and use the Repair System from the boot DVD to fix things up. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll show you how to fix things up using the Rescue System.

Oh… Yeah… sorry… forgot to mention that…

Actually i have 4 HDD right now… and Windows One is the primary one right now.

1st Master 20gb Windows NTFS HDD
the other three are - 1st Slave 40GB Linux HDD, 1st SATA Master 250GB Storage/New Windows NTFS HDD and USB 250GB Toshiba Storage NTFS HDD

And i want to get rid of the 20gb one because it shows signs of “Soon-coming-death” :stuck_out_tongue:
