Move opensuse 12.1 installation to GA-X79-UD3 (UEFI) mb.

Hi,

I’ve got openSuSE 12.1 x86_64 running happily on a Gigabyte EP43-S3L mb. I am thinking of upgrading to a GA-X79-UD3.
Currently the system boots from a 500GB MBR hd, and has also a raid 5 (3x2TB hd), also MBR disks.

If I just move the disks to the new mb, will the system boot from the old disk? I don’t care about moving to UEFI mode (yet), however, if I add a 3TB hd later (not as a boot device, just for data), do I have to use UEFI mode?

Thanks in advance,

Yianni.

If the bios order keeps, usually yes. You may have to do changes to graphic
config, sound, network…

I think not.

No, but you have to format the 3TB HDD with GPT.
