Mouse/trackapd issues

Hi guys,

This is a new one on me and I really do hope you guys can help me. For the last few days the mouse/trackpad has had a mind of its own. The right button now has decided that it is the dominant one and the left doesn’t do anything. I tried to fix it using the settings, but to no avail. Sometimes the pointer decides that it wants to start drawing a box, and won’t stop. The pointer stops working when I got VLC on and will not click on anything. Sometimes it will drag icons around until I bang hard enough for it to stop. This has been in the last 5-7 days or so.

This is on a Lenovo G50-30

This reads like a possible hardware issue rather than driver related. Unfortunately, it seems to be a common problem with this Lenovo range…

Your best bet is to take it up with Lenovo IMO.

You may wish to share with us the name of the Desktop GUI you’re using.

Please be aware that, there are issues with the Synaptics Touchpad Driver: <https://doc.opensuse.org/release-notes/x86_64/openSUSE/Leap/42.3/>

Take a look at the section “2.1.2 Synaptics Touchpad Driver with KDE Plasma”: <https://doc.opensuse.org/release-notes/x86_64/openSUSE/Leap/42.3/#sec.upgrade.422.synapticskde> (not applicable if you’re not using the KDE Plasma Desktop).

Seems like you are right. Was going to see if a full re-install of the system would do it. But as it happens it behaved the same say on the installer. God****it.

I am using Gnome 3.20.
