I have encrypted partition.
in opensuse 12.1 at boot time it ask for pass in screen then go to login page.
in opensuse 12.3 at first boot after installation it asked in one page but for next boots the page goes blank.
if i hit enter triple times it goes for login and the partition is not mounted.
some times it shows a terminal window and ask for pass but the password is not hidden with stars.
when i write pass it show pass and next line it print star

On one system, where I have encrypted swap and encrypted “/home”, I was prompted for encryption password on the first boot after install. On the second boot, the prompt was late and I was prompted twice (once for each encrypted partition)
As root, I did:
# mkinitrd
and it has been fine ever since.
My experience is that the “mkinitrd” done during install doesn’t always get everything completely right, so a “mkinitrd” from the running system can be useful to fix that.
