I have a machine with two hard disks, each with a Windows partition and Linux ones. One has SuSE 11.1 with KDE4 desktop, the other, Fedora with Gnome.
The Fedora system will see all partitions on both disks automatically. On the SuSE system, I need to mount the partitions on the Fedora disk myself (and unmount them, if I with to remove the disk, otherwise SuSE refuses to boot, as it sees the file system as corrupt.
This all seems very clumsy.
Is there an easier way of doing this, or am I missing a trick somewhere ?
I would be grateful for any help, but please bear in mind that nowadays I am no longer a techie (although I was 20 years ago!)
Thanks very much
Are these Fedora partitions in openSUSEs /etc/fstab? When in doubt post output of
fdisk -l
and
cat /ec/fstab
