How can I mount a webdav location to my 11.3 pc at home so I can access the same files that I do via my ipad while I am on the move.
I have an mobile-me account therefore I use idisk.
I would like idisk mounted so it appears as a folder on my desktop at home, so I can edit the same documents without having to upload and download using a web browser.
Although I haven’t done this on Linux, I’m very familiar with WebDAV issues in general configuring in that “other OS” and assume that issues should be similar.
Even in that other OS, it’s a trick to make mounts “persistent” because of timing and network connectivity issues.
Typically those issues are resolved by <not> configuring an automatic mount, instead creating a shortcut to mount so the process appears to be “one click” to the User.
From a client point of view, yes it’s nice to integrate with desktop apps but you might also find that simply using a web browser is fine, too. Usually the same methods used in a desktop app should be supported within the browser… eg DragNDrop, Cut/Copy/Paste, directory browsing, etc. — Not different than using a Desktop Directory app like Konqueror or Dolphin. If you do use a web browser, just bookmark the link.

Konqueror is (also) a webbrowser, thus you can have the bookmark and the file manager functionality.
