motherboard question

I would to know if my motherboard will be compatible with SUSE. On the chipset is the following information:

Intel
FW82801EB
F6051b30
SL737

The only other possibly helpful information is on the fan which is on the heatsink (i think that’s what it is called) which has ASUS written on it. I’ve seen ASUS listed as a motherboard brand/type but maybe the fan can be bought on its own? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Any incompatibilities will be in the kernel, not the distro. Most
consumer-class motherboards are compatible. Some of the more exotic server
boards with multiple processors can be a problem, but yours isn’t in that class.

I recommend grabbing a copy of the openSUSE 11.0 RC1 live CD for whichever
desktop you prefer (KDE of Gnome), make a bootable disk from the iso file,
and use it to boot your machine. That way you can test to see if it sees your
disk(s), handles your network devices, and recognizes your sound card.

When it comes to hardware good idea to check here first and for motherboards here
Yours is not listed but like Larry suggested a good way to test is with a live cd

thank you so much. I’ll give it a shot soon!
