Strange boot behavior retux!
On one reboot this morn, Grub showed me a DIFFERENT menu splash screen! Totally weird, and since it occurred in the midst of having crash issues with the dual-booted XP on the same machine, it was even more so.
Instead of standard green 11.1 splash, I got skating penguins in blue and white.
Anybody care to speculate on that?
This used to happen all the time on approach to 12/25
Could be a Branding thing??!

Whew, at least it was SUPPOSED to happen! In the middle of very strange crash issues (possible hardware fault), it was a bit disturbing. lol!
