I noticed that smplayer is using opensuse repo should’nt it be using Packman?

It seems to only be in the opensuse repos.

I’m pretty sure that it was in packman repos at past times. But some of the patents have expired, and that allowed some software, that previously used restricted codecs, to now be fully open source. And that’s probably why there is no longer a separate packman version of “smplayer”.

Oh, by the way, your repos look fine to me.

Hi
I found the solution to my problem, I thought I would post it here for other OPs

zypper dup --from #

This is what happens

The following 12 packages are going to be upgraded:
  ffmpeg-3 gstreamer-plugins-libav libavcodec57 libavdevice57 libavfilter6 libavformat57 libavresample3 libavutil55 libpostproc54
  libswresample2 libswscale4 youtube-dl

The following 11 packages are going to change vendor:
  ffmpeg-3                 openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  gstreamer-plugins-libav  openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  libavcodec57             openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  libavdevice57            openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  libavfilter6             openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  libavformat57            openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  libavresample3           openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  libavutil55              openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  libpostproc54            openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  libswresample2           openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
  libswscale4              openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de

Thanks

Ah yes, I guess it was assumed that you’d already done the vendor change (package switching) needed for proprietary codec/library support.
