More ATI Driver Issues

Hi.
Ok, so everything was working sweet, i wasnt runnin compiz as it works fine but if i reboot it has issues.
I installed the new ati driver, from PC Linux Magazine, as i was only using fglrx, and i have an ati radeon hd.
Under sax2 i went to “test” the new driver, but the system hung with a black screen, ctrl/alt/bkspce didnt work so had to reboot.
And after the splash screen loads all i can see is 4 screens, the bottom 2 are a pinky purplyish tinge, where as the top 2 i can hit ctrl/alt/f2 and type, i have swapped xorg.conf files, but to no avail.

glxinfo shows no screens

wtf

all i need to do is somehow reset the screen/graphics to the default…

somehow

if you want to set to vesa, boot to runlevel 3,su to root & then type

sax2 -r -m 0=vesa

Andy

Cheers,
I shouldve said that sax2… starts loading then goes black, and the only thing that works is a reboot…

and before i type that, glxinfo show null screens
