Mooving all system

I install Suse in a old ATA disk(20 Gb) but now i need more space. the question is: ¿can i move the swap, / and /home (is in another partition) to another disk without loose information? if i make a image with Ghost or similar could i copy in another partition?

Tengo Suse instalado en un disco ATA de 20 Gb que se me ha quedado pequeño. Mi idea es mover todo el contenido del disco a una partición en un disco SATA que se quedará definitivo y dejar limpio el disco de 20Gb para trastear con otros SO. He mirado con el Partition Magic y con el qtParted a ver si podía copiar las particiones sin más pero no me deja hacerlo, y ya me surje la duda porque he visto varias formas de hacerlo pero mis conocimientos de linux no son tan avanzados y no estoy muy seguro de cómo hacerlo (Murphy me tiene apego y no me quedan tostadas jejeje). Despues del royo que he soltado, lo que quiero preguntar es:

1- ¿Puedo mover el swap, la raíz y el home a la nueva partición sin perder nada?¿Cómo lo hago?

2- ¿Le afectará el cambio de ATA a SATA?

Te consejo de hacer un backup de tu /home y otras lugares como /etc, y hacer una instalacion nueva.

I’m going to switch to English because my Español is not good enough for technical points.

The reason I suggest you backup your files and system configuration and do a new installation is because:

  1. Disk controller drivers will give you problems during boot because they usually in the initrd which you will have to rebuild. Especially as you say you are changing from PATA to SATA.

  2. You will have to redo the boot loader on the new disk. The GRUB menu may have to change, also fstab, especially if the mount is by disk-id.

An expert can overcome these problems with the use of rescue CDs but I don’t recommend the experience to a newbie.

The problem is my internet connection. I have a 56k modem and reinstall all programs is a scream of weeks. then can i copy all folders and replace in the new instalation? i try to do this.

Compra un OpenSUSE DVD. There are many duplicators who will sell you a DVD for a few dollars. Sometimes they are distributed with computer magazines. Or someone in your country could make a copy for you.
