I am running OpenSuse on an external harddrive and I’m having difficulties with my screen being misaligned. The screen seems to be aligned too far to the right and cuts off part of the desktop. There is a section of black screen on the left. I tried going into settings to change the resolution to no avail as it does not recognize my monitor?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this problem?

Tell us what graphics device you have and if you have installed any driver?

Maybe an obvious suggestion (I run into this on occasion with my setup as
well), but my monitor has an adjustment that can be used to re-center the
screen. Most modern monitors can auto-detect it with a button press or
it can be adjusted manually.

From the system this could be adjusted with the modelines, but calculating
them is not trivial. The old SAX2 did it. Nowdays… no idea
