Monitor flicker or dropouts

After installing Leap 15/Gnome on a workstation and monitior that worked fine before with 42.3, the desktop windows has been bothered with flicker or dropout. Any idea to troubleshoot and fix this problem?

Add the following terminal outputs for the current hardware and settings in use:

inxi -Fz

monitor-get-edid-using-vbe: command not found
If ‘monitor-parse-edid’ is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this:
cnf monitor-parse-edid

If your monitor is flickering then must be there some junk files in the system. Due to junk files, this problem happens. Try to clear all the junk files from your system and then restart it. Hope that it will help you. HP support assistant is there to help if the problem does not get resolved.

You’re using one of two possible FOSS X drivers (nouveau). Try the other. Simplest way is to uninstall nouveau

zypper rm xf86-video-nouveau

or use YaST2, then restart X or reboot. The kernel will continue using the nouveau kernel driver, but X should automatically switch to the modesetting driver.
