modules.usbmap no entry for 046d.09a1

Opensue 11.1 kernel 2.6.27.7 2.6.27.8

In modules.usbmap is no entry for my webcam 046d.09a1
Logitech Quickcam Communicate MP/S5500

The correct driver uvcvideo is loaded
but no /dev/video0 is registered

Nearly all the uvcvideo webcams are missing in modules.usbmap

Can the kernel be patched for this shortcoming???

Now on kernel 2.6.27.10.3-1

same error as al the 2.6.27 kernel from suse

The Ubuntu kernels are patched so it seems cause the uvc webcams
have /dev/video see Ubuntu forums

Update ! ! ! !

start mplayer from cli with tv:// -tv fps=30
you see that it uses /dev/video0

Kdetv the same

Further are working Luvcview and Vlc

Xawtv seem to work according info from Ubunto (have to google it)

Luvcview and Vlc can make a snapshot from the video stream

Amsn sees the webcam
