Modem Configuration

How do I configure my modem without setting a service provider? When I try to configure my modem I can’t get past the page for setting my internet provider. I have DSL and only use a modem for faxing.

I’m running SUSE 11.3 32bit with KDE 4.5.2 and the modem is a BCM4212.

Thanks
Dan

What type of modem is it? If the modem is supported by a driver, then you should not need to configure it as such. There is a faxing utility called efax which may be helpful too you. (efax-gtk is the front-end for it).

Its available as RPM packages too:

Thanks, I’ll try that the next time I’m at the computer.

Hi
efax is the utility, I built the gtk part awhile back for a user;

I remember you building the GUI (efax-gtk) openSUSE package. Thanks!
