MKV Extractor Qt equivalent for openSUSE

I tried to find a similar thread but couldn’t.
Is there a alternative for MKV Extractor Qt for openSUSE?

Would appreciate any help.

zypper in mkvtoolnix

although the mkv container format is open most of the codecs used are not so don’t forget to fo a full vendor change to packman

you could use ffmpeg (from packman) tor extracting video/audio from mkv files

about MKV Extractor Qt it’s a python app and all it needs to run is the appropriate version of python 2.7 or 3.2
just download a build
extract it with ark and run it, it doesn’t have to be installed

When I extract the files in the MKV-Extractor-Qt-precise.tar.gz file. I see three *.py files. - and

When I press on dolphin asks me if I want to execute it, which I do, but nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong?

In order to run I had to install the following via YaST:





Then right click on and choose to run with Python3.
