After upgrading to the above, I find that some plasmoids are missing: RSS Now, Dictionary, Calculator (of the ones I use). The most important one for me is RSS Now, indeed there is no RSS plasmoid at all offered anymore. Downloading new plasmoids doesn’t offer anything, and I can’t find it on kde-looks either. Has anyone else noticed this, and any ideas as to how I can get RSS Now and the other back?

They are all in the package “plasma-addons”.

Indeed they are, thanks! For some reason installation of plasma-addons involved downgrade of akonadi but then I’ve never really understood what akonadi is for anyway…

For PIM and some “thrilling new features” so it’s very important if You’re using Kmail. For me it’s useless as far as I know

Yes, I know that much about akonadi but I don’t use Kmail and use Recoll for desktop indexing/search. Much as I like KDE4 as my preferred DE, I’ve always found the entire KDEPIM/Kmail/Akonadi/Strigi complex baffling, overhyped, and useless.
