openSUSE 13.2 64bit KDE. When I compose a message to post on this forum and preview it, all the carriage returns are stripped out making it more difficult to read. Is that to save storage space? Is there a work-around?

KDE is only your desktop. I assume you use an application, most probably a web-browser to compose a forum post. Which browser?

I have no problems here as you can see.

This is openSUSE 13.1 and KDE, but the browser is Firefox 35.0.

And I see those line feeds also with the Preview button.

Thanks Henk, you hit the nail on the head. It’s my Opera 12.16 that is causing the problem. Firefox works correctly. I will have to do some further research.

I have had copy/paste problems with konqueror that do not happen with firefox.

So I configured konqueror to tell the site that it is actually firefox. And then it works properly. I think that suggests that the javascript on the forum page might be the real culprit.

Well I saved my Opera bookmarks and Speed Dial settings, deleted the .opera directory in /home/user and re-installed Opera 12.16 from a .rpm.

Everything seems to work normally again.

Thanks Henk.
