Missing Certificate (TLS) for openVpn.

Hi guys, I am trying to connect to VPN network but I am missing a Certificate (TLS) in the list. Note, I used to have it by default when I was in my previous distro Fedora 23.
What mean is, dose it come under a different name now or I how should I add it?

If so please advise me.

Thanks,

Hi,

do you mind, telling us, which certificate is missing?

I looked up the current SDB for OpenVPN, and it looks a bit dated. Last update in 2014, it describes a number of procedures which I’d guess still works but are done with external apps when many of those things can be done internally.

When you connect to a VPN server, you’ll need to authenticate… sometimes by using a pre-shared cert or PKI.
You’ll need to contact the Admin of the Server you want to connect to, or read available documentation (sometimes downloading a package which includes the cert) and follow the directions specific to what you wish to connect to.

As for the following screen shot the Connection Type is “X.509 Certificates”, what I need is “Certificate (TLS)” which is as the name is and should be in the list.
My previous distribution Fedora 23, used to have this available by default. And I am sure that I need to download and install it in OpenSuse.

You need to add the path to the 3 files for “CA file”, “Certificate” and “Key”. These files (and the gateway address) should be given to you by the administrator of the vpn server, you are trying to connect to.
The names of these files end with “.pem”. Look for them in your previous Fedora installation.
