Missing Battery Icon Under Gnome 3 Environment

Hello OpenSuse forums,

It seems like any version of Linux that I install on my laptop whether being environment under Gnome, Unity, KDE. LXDE. But I finally decided to use Gnome for my laptop.

I just can’t see or figure out how to activate the battery icon in the top menu bar. Here are some of my specs.

  • Toshiba L645D-S4040
  • 64 Bits OpenSuse
  • 8gb Ram
  • AMD Radeon HD 4250
  • AMD Athlon X2 64 Bits

If you guys could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. This is my first time installing on a laptop.

Hi, welcome

By default the battery extension should be there. Looking at your specs, I wonder if it may not work with the open source driver. Did you install the AMD/ATI driver?

Hello,
Thank you for the fast reply! I have an open source driver. How do I get the drivers for it?
