Usually “bare bones” means “headless”, i.e. no desktop environment IIRC. The installer allows this AFAIK.
Another option is to (build and) download an image from Welcome – SUSE Studio

13.1 is the Beta version, so you should be asking in the Beta forum, not
here.
Assuming it is the same as the stable version, just choose the minimal
pattern.
