You can install a pattern, but I do not know tthe exact name of it (like pattern-gnome or so). Using
yast
and then tab/select to software mangement and choose Patterns there. Somewhere is Gnome.

in the terminal log in and then
su -
yast
TAB to Software Management hit enter
TAB to Search, press the down arrow
a new box opens, press the up/down arrow to Patterns, press enter
in new box use arrows to locate
“GNOME Desktop Environment”, press enter
move to “GNOME Base System” press enter
TAB to “actions” press down arrow
use arrow to move to Install
press enter…follow your nose
use esc or F9 to back out of trouble…but, one install has started
let it finish…
ps: no real server needs a X/GUI!

Thanks to the both of you!
I’ll try this and post back if I get into trouble
…and I know that no real server needs any X/GUI
but LTSP is easier with a x/gui - at least the 1-klick install
