Mincraft with controller support on TW?

Hi all.

Don’t play it myself, but my son is desperate to play it.
I have the game running on TW(KDE) via flathub.

Looking to get controller support installed, I understand that Miecraft doesn’t support it natively.
Seven years ago(!) the method appear to be a mod called “Forge” that added zero-config controller support:

Is this still how it is done today?
And if so, is there a recommened method to install the mod (given this thread is from 2016)?

@jedibeeftrix Hi, I’ve not added a controller, just using minecraft with optifine. It should still work AFAICT.

You should ask your son to play MineClone2 he is better than Minecraft.
MineClone2 is open source
