Migration Leap to Slowroll possible?

Suse “clarified” im the latest news that “Slowroll is a new experimental distribution from 2023 based on Tumbleweed, but rolling slower.”

  1. What does experimental mean here? How shall something experimental be more robust than an official distro? When will Slowroll not be experimental anymore?

  2. Is it possible to migrate from Leap15.5 to Slowroll? Does the SHIM version match or will it result into the same Grub 2 failure as when trying atm migrating to Tumbleweed? Or will it fail on boot with an endless Launch screen as atm any upgrade to the highest Backport kernel?

Yes, I love my Suse Leap 15.5. It works brilliantly and allows me gaming as never before - best Linux experience I ever had, even while it is still messy on disc regards uninstalled content. It is superfast and highly responsive, so much better than Windows 11.

That love for Leap is precisely why I am concerned about my beloved Leap’s future. That’s why I try finding ways to migrate to something which has a future. Thankfully there is still some time, but having learned about essentials being a show stopper on migration like Secure Boot, I am looking for a feasible option for a future proven distro sooner than later.

Any link and hints regards stability of Slowroll and migration from Leap to Slowroll would be very much welcome. My priority is still on staying with Suse, yet. Many thanks in advance

@BierPizzaChips You have a good two years of life left in Leap and maybe even a Leap 15.7, so just carry on… ask again this time next year and see where things are at…
