I’m not really sure where to start with this. I just got a new Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 and want to install it in openSUSE 11.0 running Gnome. Where do I even begin?
Update: I got the mouse working initially through yast>mouse>auto and generic. however, the scroll wheel nor the extra buttons are functioning. I did get an error after I installed the mouse, I rebooted, tried to open control center>mouse and I received a pop up that said “gnome-settings-manager has crashed.” Now I cannot open mouse configuration in either yast or control center. If I click on the mouse icon, it appears to be loading sax2, shows the sax2 initializing pop up, then nothing. It acts as though I never asked to start sax2.
