microfocus login for forums and bugzilla does not work in Firefox

I can’t log in to https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/ or https://forums.opensuse.org using Firefox. It does work with Konqueror.

Once the https://login.microfocus.com/ page comes up, after pressing “Login”, the address bar flashes yellow and returns me to the same page.
This might have something to do with third-party cookies, but I can’t find any information about how to add them as exception in Firefox. I’m blocking third-party cookies in Firefox.

On the other hand, if I disable cookie blocking, it doesn’t work either. Any pointers?

It should work. But you might need to first close all instances of firefox, so that session cookies are deleted. Then start over. Alternatively, try login to the site in a firefox private window, and keep that window open until you are ready to logout or your login session expires.

I do occasionally run into a “redirect loop” problem, and that happens more often with firefox than with konqueror. When that happens, closing the browser (to delete session cookies) and starting over usually works.

I missed this part.

If I first login to bugzilla with firefox, then I cannot login to the forum. I get a redirect loop. I haven’t recently tried it the other way (first login to the forum). I usually login with konqueror, and that’s what I’m using now.

or chromium…

Yes, third party cookies are required for the authentication to work - in
general, authentication requires the use of cookies.

You will probably need to unblock third party cookies and then clear
cache and cookies before you try again.

???

I use Firefox to log into the Forums, have all along, and all that time I have Firefox “Accept third-party cookies” set to “Never”.

No problems.

So, OP’s problem must be something else. Possibly, a blocked cookie in “Exceptions”?
