Time. And random accumulation of events.
But I did like FF in Charlie’s Angels, moustache and all…
Sic transit gloria mundi
> wtf is going on?
i was thinking about that as the day unfolded, see if you can follow this:
back during the “cave man” era if a person 50 miles away died you
might not learn about it that day…or week…or month and, your day
(week/month/etc) and your emotions would not be affected…
in fact, you might not ever never even know s/he existed…
ok, now lets fast forward another xx years of twitter/facebook/24x7
news outlets, etc, etc, when we ‘know’ more and more and more
people…soon we will be emotionally involved in the death of a (real
)friend, an eFriend, eAquaintance (not to mention politician, actor,
comic, singer, techo guru, etc etc etc etc) every week…no, every day…
NO…eventually we will be constantly emotionally involved…
i’m not certain that side of ‘being connected’ is gonna prove to
actually be human progress…

Shame.
Whether you liked him or not you cannot but salute the fact that he had unbelievable skills in music and showmanship, he’ll be missed by many.
/salute.
I second that. I’m not so fussed about his music - it was certainly epoch making, but never really affected me.
But I still feel a great deal of sympathy for the guy. Doesn’t seem he was ever really given a chance to settle, and be what he wanted to be.
RIP.
I really like MJ, including his music which was very popular during the 80s when I was a child. I basically grew up listening to his music (and Madonna and Tina Turner) then I switched to electronic music when I became teenager. I have all his albums, including the Moonwalker movie which I still like very much and it’s on the menu for tonight
Whatever one might think about MJ, as Heidi said, you can’t deny the fact that he was not only king of Pop but also king of the stage. When he gets on stage, no one can beat him and his moves. Great talent, great voice, great show and a great person too. Shame that in recent years he had to deal with so much **** in his life and morons who want to get a piece of his $$$
R.I.P. MJ
Yes, I understand and know that but I was more referring to the weird fact that on one single day, 4 famous people died. MJ, Farrah, Ed and (in my country) Jasmine who took her life. That’s a bit weird

i am bewildered: i said nothing for/against, like or not MJ (or any of
the others named in the original posting)…not even a hint of that!
i was talking about what the 24x7 diet of fame, fortune, and celebrity
is doing to the human condition!
so, where does your comment come from??
take it back lady.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson
You influenced a generation and more.
Still haven’t seen a dancer that can out smooooth MJ’s moves.
Radio station was talking about MJ and brought up his accomplishment in bringing all of those musicians together for “We Are The World”. Considering that was the first of its kind, that was a heck of an accomplishment.
Sounds like a little thicker skin is in order here. I read nothing in her remarks that was directed at you. Just a general “whether you liked him or not” comment directed at the crowd. Nothing to get uptight about.

then what was her opening “Shame.” for–if not to stick her finger in
my eye??
read closer–she should retract her unwarranted poke!

Err, what?
My comment was a generic one - I mean we can’t expect everyone to like everyone.
I’m confused.
Shame
Could be as in “Shame he passed away”.
and
Whether you liked him or not
Could be as in whether you like his music or not, or whether you liked him after the controversy or not, or something along those lines.
Only one person knows for sure what was intended.
Hey natural_pilot:
>then what was her opening “Shame.” for–if not to stick her finger in
>my eye??
Shame…as in it’s a shame he died. Sheesh.

Halleluja, people understood what I meant
What do you mean by that? rotfl!
Just noticed, the title is misspelled
“Micheal” should be “Michael”.
Hey Chrysantine:
>Halleluja, people understood what I meant
I think most people did>

sorry i misunderstood your meaning…(probably because you are so
often openly hostile toward those who do not come here via your chosen
method [http])
