I am having issues with my microphone since I have installed linux it was working fine on windows but dont wanna go back to that so I wanna fix it no matter what on linux
What kind of mic???
What Desktop???KDE/Gnome/something else???
Do you see it in the volume control?? Is the gain turned up???
Install pulseaudio volume control (pavucontrol) and check the settings in Input. Is the mic recognised; is it muted?
Going by the OP it’s probably not a headset-based mic (probably just a typical internal mic on a laptop), also I’d be surprised if pulseaudio volume control wasn’t installed already… isn’t it part of the default package set?
Don’t think pavucontrol is part of a base install. in any case it is a good place to start.
The mic may just be muted
turns out the acer drivers are not compatible with linux, idgaf I am gonna use linux anyway I ditch windows, also the mic wasnt muted I am not that big of a noob T_T
