I have strange problem with refresh rate. My screen is blinking fast (like bad refreshing) on kernel 4.14. on 4.13 everything was ok. This is my setup:
System: Host: zen Kernel: 4.14.0-1-default x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: Gnome 3.26.2
Distro: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20171123
Machine: Device: laptop System: ASUSTeK product: UX410UAK v: 1.0 serial: N/A
Mobo: ASUSTeK model: UX410UAK v: 1.0 serial: N/A
UEFI: American Megatrends v: UX410UAK.200 date: 09/13/2016
CPU: Dual core Intel Core i7-7500U (-HT-MCP-) cache: 4096 KB
clock speeds: max: 3500 MHz 1: 2900 MHz 2: 2900 MHz 3: 2900 MHz 4: 2900 MHz
Graphics: Card: Intel HD Graphics 620
Display Server: wayland (X.org 1.19.5 ) driver: i915 tty size: 100x24
On Xorg session I have 60Hz and 40Hz refreshing rates to choose, and on both, screen is blinkig, mostly on dark backgrounds. When screen is white (like full screen browser wit white background) it’s ok.
On wayland session I have 60,1Hz, 59,96Hz 40,00Hz. On 59,96Hz I have the best refreshing rate, like on 4.13 kernel, without problem.
This problem also occurs on Manjaro and Elementary OS with 4.14 kernel installed.
