Right guess who got bought a laptop for christmas with linux on it? Its a HP Mini-Note with Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 pre loaded… turned it on all fine… Except one thing… i have GAIM pre installed and I myself install aMSN but neither can connect to the MSN server, i cant test any of the others because i dont have accounts but im pretty sure its a security problem…
Now i have disabled the firewall in linux and that didnt help (I have a hardware router firewall which works fine) Its connecting to the internet via RJ-45 so no connection problems there… any ideas guys cos im stumped?

You don’t need to disable your firewall.
What is your aMSN version? Maybe the MSN protocol changed since your version.
The latest aMSN can be downloaded from the Packman repository.
