Messaging Clients

I like to talk. Sometimes faster, sometimes…It depends on the client  CLI clients are faster, the others are richer in emoticons and more expressive. What do you need?

Perhaps you mean to ask

What messaging client do we use?

Really only: in browser gmail
konversation IRC

This was meant to be another poll  I just got the error about 5 min required before posting the thread or I don’t know…

Hello
I use pidgin for yahoo, gtalk and msn
I use skype for… well skype :
And i use konversation for IRC (freenode and quakenet)

I have Pidgin and Kopete installed: I can’t remember why I stopped using Pidgin; but in a desperate attempt to get awayfrom the whole Akonadi/Nepomuk mess, I stopped Kopete and searched for an alternative, which I found in InstantBird. It’s very minimalistic, but should become more ornate with time: most software does…

It’s pretty good.

What about CLI clients: pork or naim for AIM, climm for ICQ, irssi and bitlbee for everything, centerim/ finch for many. Ok, GUI makes things easier, but it’s the windows-virus speaking to you, not the linux-virus. Otherwise why this addiction to GUI?

Pidgin for all - GMail, Yahoo, IRC, etc

Empathy for GTalk and yahoo messenger
