Have such a problem, I’m using optimus notebook(if it matters something to this problem) and version included to OpenSuSE 13.1 X64 is broken(the same broken 9.2.2 release available for opensuse 12.3 and also damaged or buggy).
So the point is that skype, some WINE apps and some more programms cause XOrg crash and restart X server(in my case KDE is desktop environment). Best way to test is to install skype and start chatting with 2-4 people(somehow error doesn’t come out too quickly) and after short conversation if you receive message or sent it KDE crashes, XOrg reboots and you have to relogin(session is lost). Same story was on OpenSuSE 12.3 with optional Mesa 9.2.2 installed.
Version of Mesa 9.2.0 was brilliant, very stable, Bumblebee compatible etc, but in version 9.2.2 something went wrong. More over, official Mesa and Intel driver website reports last stable version 9.2, not 9.2.2. (just see it here https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads ).
So as far, as 9.2.2 is totally broken it’s required roll-back to 9.2.0.
I’m having somewhat similar issues in 13.1 with the ATI fglrx driver and Mesa. This isn’t openSUSE specific as I’m also seeing it in Kubuntu 13.10 (on the same hardware).
And it wouldn’t be the first time that fglrx would have issues, too.
Which version are you using btw? There were problems with kernel 3.11.6 until recently, AFAIK.
If it’s really the Mesa package that is broken, someone should file a bug report though.
