Hi, I have a problem with mediatomb, I can’t make it work. I configured mediatomb as it is sugested on the official site, it runs but it can’t be seen from a client side, any suggestion? I’m using opensuse 12.2, I’ve opened the UDP port.

What specific port or ports did you open? What are you considering a
“client”? Are you talking about the web interface or a media renderer?
I’ve got it running here on 12.2 with no problems.

I’m sorry, it seems that I set the TCP port to 49153 instead of 49152. Now the media render can see the server. Thank you this mistake made loose some hours.

That’d do it. One thing that can happen (I observed this myself) is if
you shut down and restart too quickly, the port won’t have been
released. I always specify -p 49152 on the command-line to be sure it
picks the correct port.
