I want to set up a media server on my OpenSuse 11.3 machine for sharing mainly video files (mostly .mkv) to my xbox 360 and my other windows 7 pc.
But I haven’t got a clue what I should use.
Any suggestions ?

You need a upnp server running, mythtv etc. I use a twonkymedia server
to stream to my xbox and then djmount to use the playlists on a local
machine.
You might have to re-encode your videos though;

I have a Linksys NAS 200 (Network Attached Storage) with a built in copy running. You need to pay for a standalone version (Although you can try a demo version, http://www.twonky.com/).
I think VLC (from packman) will stream.

Is there no good tutorial for setting up a mediaserver in openSuse for using it with the 360 ? I searched for an half of hour now for a good tutorial, without any succes … 
Okay, I now have read a couple of times, that “ushare” should work. But I don’t know how to install it .
May you help me ?
Install one of the versions from here (don’t stay subscribed).

You will probably need to open firewall ports as well.
