Is there a program available which will check and verify a downloaded file.
Ubuntu has gtkhash and Mandriva uses Parano.
I know how to Md5 using the command line, but gui software would be a bonus.

In a terminal opened in the same folder as the .iso
type: md5sum file.iso
(file.iso = replace with your file name. If you type the first few letters and then hit the TAB key it should complete the name for you)
Also if you right click an .iso and open with k3b it will hash check the file and show you the sum in the UI

When loading an ISO into k3b (KDE users, or Gnome users who like k3b like
I do) the tool will show you an md5sum there as well; works well enough
but the command line is way faster if that’s all you’re going to do.
