says that all the apps are finished in adaptation to wayland. In other places the docs say they are still working on it.
I thought I would ask if anyone is using wayland with mate 1.28. If so have they noticed anything different. I thought I would ask before trying it and garbling up my system and having to do a “restore”

Not a Mate user, but it is still WIP…
MATE 1.28 has made significant strides in updating the codebase, including the removal of deprecated libraries and ensuring compatibility with the latest GTK versions. One of the most notable improvements is the enhanced support for Wayland, bringing us closer to a fully native MATE-Wayland experience. Several components have been updated to work seamlessly with Wayland, ensuring a more integrated and responsive desktop environment.
As it is a session choice at login, why not try it for yourself. If it doesn’t work properly, simply log out and select the normal MATE/X11 session again.
I have no session choice for mate – wayland at login. If you have that, how did you set it up?
I thought I’d mess up my system if things didn’t go well after trying wayland manually. Wanted to avoid a restore.
No one has responded that they are using mate – wayland so maybe it is not a “thing”.

Maybe not many using it (I’m a happy KDE user). Have patience, someone is bound to respond in time.
