Hello together,
since the switch from OpenSuSE 10.2 to 10.3 and then to 11.0 i have problems when burning DVD+RW media from different manufactures and different speed capabilities when using the SCSI device convention of my IDE PATA DVD burner drive LG 4167B like /dev/sg* and the IDE PATA harddrive with /dev/sda* . The problem is that during burning DVD+RW i get massive buffer underruns but when burning DVD+R and CD-R or CD-RW everything runs ok with a nearly constant buffer between 97% and 100%. The burning application is the current K3B packman version .
When using the old drive convention like /dev/hda and /dev/hdc for the DVD burner by using the via82cxxx module, everything is running fine when burning DVD+RW and all other media.
So does anyone know the reason why and perhaps knows a solution how to get the burning of DVD+RW work using the /dev/sg* device convention ?
Thanks in advance
Andreas
