Is there a way to scan my hard drive and remove all debuginfo and debugsource files? i recently received a laptop that barely has anything on it and it appears that most of the space (only 10% free) is taken up with debuginfo and debugsource files. i’m not seeing much of anything listed in YaST but am suspecting that debuginfo and debugsource files are the culprit.
Why do you not specify which level of openSUSE you use?
I do not understand what you mean with “debugsource”. But there are repos “debug” and “source” to make it able to install the debug information and the source that belong to the packages on the OSS repo. On most systems these are disabled. And they are disabled at installation by default. Thus if you did not enable them and then delibaratly installed from them, nothing of it is on your system.
When you think that one or more of your partitions are much more filled then one normaly would expect and you want comment on this from others here, please post the output of:
sudo /sbin/fdisk -l
and
mount
and
df -h
(and do not forget the CODE tags: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/information-new-users/advanced-how-faq-read-only/451526-posting-code-tags- guide.html )
