Hi all,
Many thanks for the great comments and help.
In short I believed, wrongly, that there was a big overhead from using Dolphin.
I have a gigabit/copper connection and hoped it wall all go much faster. Will have to do the sums.
Having set up the sshfs connection I just did a straight cp -R for music directories and let it run all night. Seems OK this morning but have now more to do so syncing works as required with two more directories.
I would appreciate a bit more info please on exactly what is the difference between using the sshfs mounting vs just straight rsync with ssh connection and similarly using nfs and rsync.
I have been suing Luckybackup as rsync gui and at some point would like to trouble shoot my problem because this is what I have been using between NAS and server in the past. Am doing this work now because server is due for service and will be down for a while for upgrade and NAS is dead.
Thanks again for all the help and advice.
Regards,
Budge.
