Make apps open to the left side

I notice when I open apps one will open to the far left and the next one opens to the right. With gnome or cinnamon I could use the desktop pager with my mouse by rolling the wheel on the far left or right of the desktop even with apps maximized. With KDE Plasma you must have some of the desktop visable to do this.

So if I could just have all the apps load to the left, I would not have to move them everytime.

Any setting that can do this?

TIA Bob

Am not aware of any setting to modify this type of behavior but I’ve noticed this and speculate it’s because KDE likely attempts to open new apps where there is open Desktop space.

The workaround I’ve come up with is to simply move all existing windows away from the left margin. If in fact all the Desktop space to the right has been covered, then new apps should open to the left.

But, for the most part I generally leave most of my app windows open to the left and have moved all my Desktop widgets to the right where there is generally some Desktop space to be seen.

in . . .
configure desktop > window behaviour > window behaviour > advanced

there is a setting to set placement.
There isn’t one to set “left” but perhaps one of the other options may work for you - such as “under mouse”

Thanks, I used Gnome for about 5 years, so I am not up on all the KDE settings. I decided to go with center placement since most of my apps are at almost full screen any ways. It works perfect.
