"mail not found"

Dear all
I have been asked to get automysql installed to backup our MySQL databases and then send the files to an admin via email.
Although I have used AutoMySQL before on an Opensuse11.3 machine, we’re now on 12.1 and I am getting the error “mail not found”.
Sure enough, if I drop to the CLI and type mail, I get “mail: command not found”.

This is 12.1 x64 minimal (if that makes any difference) and I have tried to find mail using Yast but to no avail.
Please can someone spare a few moments to help out?

Thanks for reading, I hope someone can help!

it may not, but on my machine

which mail

yields /usr/bin/mail

and a search in YaST on “mail” with only a searching with in the “RPM
Provides” checked, i see the package “mailx” provides /usr/bin/mail (and
also provides /bin/mail)…

so, i GUESS installing (or reinstalling) mailx might help…maybe.

dd

It did, thank you!!!

You may also need postfix installed and configured.
