Hello all,
I’ve installed MadWifi and I can’t seem to get my WLAN card working.
The network settings on YaST:
AR242x 802.11abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter (Not connected)
BusID : 0000:03:00.0
Unable to configure the network card because the kernel device (eth0, wlan0) is not present. This is mostly caused by missing firmware (for wlan devices). See dmesg output for details.
Any help? I’m new to SUSE. Thanks!
Did you compile or use an rpm for madwifi drivers ? Have you tried the compat-wireless driver ?
Andy
Hello Andy,
I’ve used YaST software management to download it.
Try the drivers from here Index of /suse/11.0 or use the compat-wireless drivers.
Andy
I did. And I get a usr folder. (I’ve downloaded the madwifi-0.9.4-1.x86_64.rpm)
When I try to check the wifi I get
marianox@linux-l1y8:~/usr/bin> athstats
athstats: wifi0: No such device
did you install the kmp-default rpm as well ?
Andy
I get “repo exception” on both of them when trying to install them.
