MacBook Pro 15' late 2011

Hi there, i would really love to get back to opensuse after almost a year of OSX. I had enough. I costantly use opensuse on VM and other machines but had to buy a mac to be confident with it (to be ready to answer client’s questions).

Does anybody have experiences about opensuse on that machine? the info box says

15 inches, Late (or “end”, i’m translating…) 2011
2,4 GHz Intel Core i7
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB

Big issues or i can just backup the system and install opensuse?

I’m trying it out with the KDE live and for the moment things i have noticed are that i’m using only 2 of the 8 GB of ram available. Is that normal on a Live CD? Also, the wifi isn’t working properly but i guess it is because of the firmware and shouldn’t be big deal…
