MacBook Air 5,2 : no mouse/touchpad, no keyboard on install

I have a MacBook Air 5,2 with only Linux Mint 17.1 intalled and everythings ok (no more OSX exist).

Now i try to install Opensuse 13.2 but no luck on installation : my keyboard and my touchpad did not work at all, even with a USB mouse
The first screen of OpenSuse is OK but not the second who i can chose language etc…

I have :

  • tried installation with DVD and USB
  • downloaded/reburn 3 times the DVD
  • tried all the option on F5 (ACPI, Safe, etc) => this first screen my keyboard and touchpad works ok, no more after

Just weird because with Linux Mint (17 and 17.1) and Fedora 20 i never had this problem.

Thanks for your help if you can (i’ve serached many times Google, forums, my last chance is here…)

I haven’t installed on an Air but I have no issue on a number of MBP’s.

Do you have an Apple and/or other keyboard that you can plugin via USB to see if the install actually hangs or simply the internal keyboard and touchpad stops working?

Did you verify the download checksum and then do a media test with the
DVD?

There’s really no reason to burn multiple times unless the DVD media
fails the media check.

Just FYI.
