Hi! I’m new on forum, but not in Suse…
I’m runnin’ Suse 11.2 kde 4
I have a question about Firewire drivers for M-Audio 410.
I’d just searched on web and the solutions are very poor…
FreBoB solutions don’t help me.:’(
Different forums (suse, ubuntu, debian, ecc…) has the same question with no solutions too.
Any suggest are welcome!

OpenSUSE Linux uses the alsa sound driver.
I do not know if the alsa sound driver supports the M-Audio410. It is possible it does not ?
Its possible the OSS sound driver supports M-Audio-410:
OSS v4.2 Supported device list for Linux
… however I am not familiar with the OSS sound driver, and you may need to do some research to figure out how to install and use that driver.
Searching for M-Audio on the alsa page I can up with this: Matrix:Vendor-MAudio - AlsaProject
That suggest the ICE1712 (Envy24) chipset: Matrix:Module-ice1712 - AlsaProject so maybe this is supported.
Have you tried plugging in this device with your PC off, then switch ON your PC, and then running the Linux diagnostic script after boot is complete:
/usr/sbin/alsa-info.sh
and then look at the URL provided? (do NOT post the output here).
