m.2 nvme for OS

I am putting a new system together and was wondering if anyone has any info on whether using a Samsung 950 Pro 256G M.2 NVMe drives will work to install the 42.2 OS on?

**I didn’t see any issues mentioned in the hardware portal area of opensuse, in fact no info there at all on m.2 nvme ssd .
I want to use this new m.2 style ssd because they are reportedly quicker with less bottle neck.

I have read that it will work with linux Mint, but Mint is not opensuse.

I am going to be using the Asus TUF Z270 Mark 1 [optane ready] for the motherboard and a i7-7700k for cpu with 2 Corsair 3000 16GB ram [32 total].

The m/board does have the m.2 slots, but if I use m.2 type ssd then I’m told I lose #1 sata port. Not sure why or how that is.

Thanks.

Posted this by mistake, I was not finished with POST. Sry for any inconvenience.

I happen to have a SLES12SP2 and 42.2 systems installed on Intel NUC’s with M2 NVME drives with no issues at all.

I highly recommend them, very speedy.

I had read somewhere else that a linux distro didn’t react very well to a new install on a an m.2 NVMe. That the m.2 NVMe was not recognized.
I did not look at the date, maybe it was an older post. I feel better about moving ahead with my new build now.
I didn’t know what an NUC was [little behind the times], but now I do. Looks interesting. I will have to check further.
Thanks
